To Whom It May Concern:,

I am a junior at Georgetown University, studying at the School of Foreign Service and majoring in Culture and Politics, with a minor in Contemporary Arab Studies. I am writing to you because I am very interested in interning for your company this summer. After graduation, I plan to seek employment in the consulting industry and I would be overjoyed if Cornerstone Research allowed me to gain some hands-on experience in the field before I commit to a full-time job.

Whithin the next year, I hope to prepare myself to apply for Law School to attend after graduation. I’ve started studying for the LSATs and looking at potential schools, as well as ways in which to prepare myself for a career in law. I hope that at Cornerstone Research, I will be able to learn more about the law field and how it really works, by working with researchers and attorneys. As for analytical skills, even though my major is not related to business or economics, this does not mean I’m entirely inexperienced in the qualitative fields. I’ve taken five classes in economics during my first two years in college, including introductory courses, Economics Statistics, International Trade and International Finance. Back in high school, I as able to pursue the toughest math science courses, including taking an AP Calculus BC course senior year. Throughout my life, I’ve concentrated on making myself a well-rounded person, which was why I decided to major in Culture and Politics, a major which allowed me to develop skills I thought I otherwise wouldn’t be able to work in, such as analysis in the humanities and social sciences, writing skills, and appreciation for disciplines such s literature and art history. I hope it will also make me a more interesting person.

This year, I am doing a split year abroad, studying in at the American University in Cairo during the fall and currently spending the spring semester studying the the Sorbonne University in Paris. The programs have helped me learn a lot, both in terms of foreign language acquisition, as well as the differences in culture and lifestyle between different parts of the world. The various living situations I’ve had to deal with have made me a more adaptable and open-minded persona and has taught a lot about personal relationships and teamwork. I’m interested in continuing my development through an internship at Cornerstone Research this summer and hope that you will consider me for the position.

Sincerely,

Kamilla Khabibrakhmanova
