Dear Ms. Katie,

I am a junior at Georgetown University, studying at the School of Foreign Service and majoring in Culture and Politics, with a minor in Contemporary Arab Studies. I am writing to you because I am very interested in interning for your company this summer. I believe that an internship with the Coalition of Service Industries will allow me to prepare myself for my future career plans, and that I will be able to benefit the company with my skills and hard work.

As a student primarily concentrated in International Affairs, after three years I know that knowledge of international trade and economics is essential in understanding how the international arena works. I have taken 5 economics classes: Micro and Macroeconomics, International Trade and Finance, and Economic Statistics, and received As in three of them. Although I ultimately decided not to pursue a major in economics because I wanted to explore other fields, international economic development is still a major academic interest of mine, which I plan to develop by taking regional economic classes my senior year. Being able to do research for CSI on international trade formation would thus be an amazing opportunity for me to explore my interests further.

Last year, I worked for a small organization called the Eurasia Center. There, I was in charge of many administrative tasks essential to running an office, such as phone calls, sending faxes, running errans, etc. I also did some economic country research, and published several country reports for the organizations website database. I hope that these skills will be useful if chosen for an internship with CSI.

My availability is full-time, starting immediately up until the end of summer. At the end of August, I will be starting my senior year at Georgetown University, so I would be available on a part-time basis if necessary, in accordance with my schedule.

Thank you for taking the time to read my application. I hope you take me into serious consideration and allow me to prove myself to you and your company this summer.

Sincerely,

Kamilla Khabibrakhmanova
